“Say it once and say it loud, I'm black and I'm proud.” Jimmy Rabbitte

Thursday 4th June
A big transfer day, leaving Edinburgh for London on the train. The train journey was fast and very picturesque. We travelled through or by Berwick-on-Tweed,
saw Lindisfarne – The Holy Island, Newcastle-on-Tyne, Durham,

York,

and Peterborough and finally London. We arrived at Kings Cross-St. Pancras, bought our Oyster Cards and got the Underground to our hotel on Drury Lane, Covent Garden.
We strolled down Shaftesbury Ave towards the Palace Theatre, collected our tickets for “The Commitments” and had a couple beers, gin and tonics and delicious falafel burgers at a pub nearby.

When we arrived at the theatre we were told our tickets had been upgraded to the front row of the Dress Circle. We had another wee dram to celebrate our good fortune and settled in for a fabulous show.

The Palace Theatre

Super high energy, a lot of fun and fantastic singing and music. I hope it comes to Melbourne.
After the show we strolled around Covent Garden – loud, boisterous, partying, vibrant and exciting. We are loving London!

And it is warm and dry.
